The Program for the Lions Collection of Used Glasses has as its primary objective that of collecting used glasses to distribute them to those people in need in Developing countries and in our home one.
To participate in this service activity is very easy, only for steps need to be achieved:
- order the Used Glasses Collection Kit from the Centro Italiano Lions per la Raccolta degli Occhiali Usati (Chivasso, TO);
- position the Kit in a strategic area such as optometrists’ offices, pharmacies, schools and so on;
- go to collect, periodically, the glasses collected in the areas where the kit has been located
- pack the glasses in sturdy boxes and send (or take them directly) to the Centro Italiano Lions per la Raccolta degli Occhiali Usati.
The collected glasses (sunglasses or normal ones), once they arrive at the Center, are cleaned, repaired and classified according to their prescription.
Then, they are redistributed to volunteers that will bring them to those countries that have required them.
You don’t need them anymore? Don’t throw them away but gift them to those that need them but cannot afford them.
Your “old glasses” can help someone else regain their vision!
